The Illustrated Compendium of Amazing Animal Facts

Did you know…

the heart of a mouse beats 750 times per minute?

beavers’ teeth are orange and they never stop growing?

male lions sleep up to 20 hours a day?

there are 1 million ants for every human on earth?

Neither did I. I love facts, trivia, and the unexpected bit of insight, but never did I expect it to be so darn cute! The Illustrated Compendium of Amazing Animal Facts by Maja Safstrom is absoleutly adorable and lives up to its title. It is a well bound book that has adorable black and white illustrations that are engaging and precocious. With facts about every creature from lions to tapirs, and wild turkeys to hummingbirds, this book covers all the bases. It is a fun way to brush up on all your animal trivia (for example, fleas are deaf – who knew?) and have fun doing it. Not only is this book fun to hop into (no need to read all the way through), but it looks beautiful on the shelf. This book is a perfect gift for any animal lover or bibliophile.
